Wallace High School is an 11 to 18 co educational voluntary grammar school in Lisburn, County Antrim, founded in 1880 through a bequest from Sir Richard Wallace. Originally known as Lisburn Intermediate and University School, it later adopted the Wallace name and the motto Esperance in recognition of its benefactor. The school moved from its original Antrim Road site to a larger campus at Clonevin Park in 1976, where it now accommodates more than 1,100 grammar school pupils and over 200 in its preparatory department. The campus has expanded steadily with new academic buildings, specialist facilities and a major enhancement project completed in 2018. Wallace has a strong sporting profile, particularly in rugby and hockey, and has reached multiple Ulster Schools’ Cup finals, winning the 2025 title. Alumni include prominent figures across politics, media and sport, with several former pupils representing Ulster, Ireland and Great Britain in rugby and cricket.
