St Pius X College is an independent Catholic day school for boys in Chatswood, founded by the Christian Brothers in 1937 and operating today under Edmund Rice Education Australia. The school educates students from Years 5 to 12 across its Junior and Senior Schools and sits in the centre of the Chatswood business district with close access to transport and commercial facilities. It has grown from its early years as Christian Brothers Chatswood into a well established academic school with a strong reputation in the Lower North Shore. Major developments include the Treacy Centre at Oxford Falls, a specialist sports and outdoor education facility, and the Waterford Learning Centre, which expands the school’s teaching spaces with modern, flexible classrooms.
The college offers a broad academic program supported by technology based learning, a full co curricular schedule and structured pastoral care. Students take part in ISA sport, music ensembles, service activities and established debating and public speaking programs through the Catholic Schools Debating Association and the Sydney Debating Network. The school maintains long standing links with the Diocese of Broken Bay and the wider Edmund Rice community. Old Boys have gone on to careers in public life, media, sport and the arts, including Wallabies captain Michael Hooper, broadcaster Ben Fordham, cricketer Jackson Bird and poet Francis Webb.
