About Aquinas

Aquinas College traces its origins to Christian Brothers’ College Perth, founded in 1894 in the heart of the city. Growing enrolments and limited space pushed the Brothers to establish a new campus on the Canning River, and in 1938 the boarders and many day students relocated to Salter Point to form Aquinas. The new school inherited the colours, traditions and PSA sporting history of CBC Perth and quickly established itself as one of Western Australia’s leading Catholic boys’ institutions.

The Salter Point campus occupies a sweeping stretch of riverfront land and blends heritage buildings with modern classrooms, boarding houses and extensive sporting facilities. Aquinas is known for its strong academic programme, significant community service culture and its place within the PSA, where it holds a long record of success across athletics, rowing, cricket and team sports. The Memorial Oval and chapel form important landmarks on a campus shaped by more than eighty years of continuous development.

Today Aquinas College educates more than one thousand boys from Kindergarten to Year 12, with boarding offered from Year 7. The school operates within the Edmund Rice tradition, promoting character, leadership and service while maintaining a high-performance environment in both academics and sport. Its alumni network remains influential across Western Australia, reflecting the lasting impact of one of the state’s most prominent Catholic schools.
