St Josephs Rugby Festival
Founded in 1986 to mark St Joseph’s College’s Golden Jubilee, the St Joseph’s Rugby Festival has grown into one of the most respected schoolboy rugby tournaments in the UK. Held annually at the college’s Ipswich campus, the two-day event brings together sixteen of the country’s top rugby schools for a weekend of high-intensity competition and elite player showcase.
Teams are divided into four pools, with group matches on the opening day leading into Cup, Plate, Bowl and Shield knockout stages on the Sunday. Over the years the festival has launched countless future professionals, with many alumni going on to represent Premiership clubs and national sides. Known for its atmosphere, tradition and quality of play, the St Joseph’s Festival remains a highlight of the school-rugby calendar each autumn.
