The Leinster Schools Senior Cup is one of Ireland’s oldest and most celebrated rugby competitions, first played in 1887. Run by the Leinster Branch of the IRFU, it features the province’s leading rugby schools in a knockout format that captures the imagination of players and supporters every spring.
Games are fiercely contested and often draw large crowds, with the final traditionally held at the RDS Arena in Dublin. The tournament is renowned for its rivalries, passion, and sense of tradition, with schools like Blackrock College, St Michael’s, Clongowes, Terenure, and Belvedere forming the backbone of its history.
For generations, the Cup has been a proving ground for future stars, producing countless Leinster and Ireland internationals. More than a school competition, it represents pride, heritage, and the enduring heartbeat of rugby culture in Leinster.
