The CAS Rugby Competition is the First XV rugby championship contested by the six member schools of the Combined Associated Schools (CAS) in New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1929, it is one of the oldest and most prestigious schoolboy rugby competitions in the country, known for its tradition, balance, and high standard of play.
The six competing schools are Barker College, Cranbrook School, Knox Grammar School, St Aloysius’ College, Trinity Grammar School, and Waverley College. The season is played over five rounds, with each school facing every other once. The team finishing at the top of the standings is crowned the CAS Rugby Premiers, while the best players from each school combine to form the CAS representative side that faces GPS and ISA selections annually.
Renowned for its attacking style and fierce rivalries, particularly between Waverley, Knox, and Barker, the CAS competition continues to play a major role in the New South Wales schoolboy rugby landscape and has produced many elite-level players.
